Detail Work

Here's how my building is coming along. It's all pretty much in the details phase now...texturing, signage, etc. Ignore the blue ground- that's just my generic ground plane so I know if stuff is lying flush on the ground and to distinguish it from my sidewalk elements.

Work Done Over Spring Break

Here's what I have so far in my scene (I'm combined my tracks with my building into the same scene file). The textures are by no means complete (obviously), but its coming along. Also, I've rebuilt my building entirely, but haven't changed it too much. Just joined it to the garage structure because I thought it looked cooler that way, and a few other tweaks.

Tracks, pass 2

Here is the latest look at my tracks. There IS a texture on the tracks, but its been blown out by a read-only environmental sun and sky node in the scene file. The material on the posts is mental ray only, so I had to render using this. The quality is poor because I had to render it on my home computer, but you can at least get a sense of how the layout looks and how I have changed the design of the posts.

Track Layout

I've put all the tracks in the city. They may still need further work, but this is how I imagine the layout will go.

Track Modules

I have completed all track modules for the monorail. There are wide tracks that allow two monorails to pass in opposite directions, and single tracks for only one monorail.

The Monorail Station: Main Hub and Parking Structure

Here's my latest pass at the maquettes: the buildings now have a function as a monorail station and an adjacent parking structure. I applied a glass material to the parking structure to make it clear that there are meant to be glass panes there. The main building will have the same mullions texture as last week's pass (see below).

Also, the revised tracks can be seen as well.
The red cubes are 6' tall and represent people.
